I'm Tracy Gilmer, a National Board Certified Teacher with a broad range of experience engaging students at various grade levels. My expertise encompasses music education, English Language Arts, and Career and Technical Education, all built on a foundation of a Master of Secondary Education from William Carey University and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Currently, I serve as the PLC Chair for ELA at Purvis Middle School, where I teach 7th grade English Language Arts.
I started my career shaping young musicians as a band director and music teacher throughout Mississippi, where I developed a strong passion for student mentorship and inspiration. This led me to transition into core academic subjects, where I've successfully taught English Language Arts and Information and Communication Technology.
I'm actively involved in professional development, contributing to programs like the South Mississippi Writing Project and the World Class Teacher Program as a Teacher Consultant and Professional Learning Facilitator. These roles reflect my commitment to collaborative learning and continuous improvement.
I'm always eager to connect with fellow educators and explore new avenues for professional growth. Feel free to explore my ePortfolio for a comprehensive look at my teaching approach and background.
